Director Statement
As an indigenous artist and director, it is important to me to be an active voice in the struggles of my people.
This film reflects on our history through a decolonizing lens, revealing our true identity. My intention is to question the colonial perspective of who we are, our nationality, religion, the concept of race, and blood quantum. It exposes the corrupt and genocidal system that is still in control of our territories and continues to oppress our nations.
This film sheds light on these issues and what needs to be addressed, unveiling what remains silent.
I want to encourage Indigenous youth to fight for our true sovereignty and build a collective future for the well-being of all, healing from the aftermaths of colonization, and reestablishing the harmony of life, with respect for diversity and ancestral wisdom.
